You're getting two-for-one today. I'm combining the second installment of photos from Quilt Festival with the most recent Adventures in Arting Podcast — which is all about Quilt Festival.
In fact, we recorded the first two sections of this three-part podcast while I was at Quilt Festival. If you listen, you'll get a bit more of an in-depth perspective on being at the show.
If you do not see the podcast player above, please click on this link. You can listen to a podcast anywhere and at any time. It is a recording that is available to you whenever you'd like to listen. If you'd like to download it to your iTunes library, click here. You can also pause and rewind or fast forward as you desire. I like to listen to podcasts while I'm making art. It's a little like hanging out with friends while you art.
And now, the quilt photos:
Plenty more photos to come next week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Wow, thanks for sharing these beautiful pictures…i sometimes think that those quilts are more art than quilt. But they all are truly beautyful…

Hi there Julie,
Just to catch up with you. I looked at the stamp video how inspirational that is. I loved the bees. I wish I could cut the pink rubber stamp material on my scanncut. I think it is a little to thick. I know I can cut 1/8 inch thick craft foam. If the pink rubber stamp material was the 1/8 inch thick I think I would have a good chance.
I listen to the latest pod cast. I am a loner crafter. Hope your Mom got over her little cough. I truly enjoyed listening about the quilt show. Maybe someday I will get to go.
My hubby would be both supportive and ok lets get through this show quickly. He would not be over in the lounge unless he brought paper work to work on while I went through the show.
I know how draining these types of shows can be. I did ceramic shows back in my day. Getting creations made for displaying and for competition with my adult students and my youngster students and myself. Very busy for what seemed endless.
Then packing up to travel to show etc. Setting up the booth lots to do. With that said it was very rewarding and educational all around. I really loved it and did look forward to it.
This batch of pictures of quilts is again to me unbelievable.
I love the Indian quilts but I think the Genie quilt is awesome. I love it. Loved the Japanese quilts too wow.
I bet they all would sell for very large sums of money.
I would be delighted to see some fabulous quilter do a quilt of the Brother Scanncut 1- or 2.
I agree I too look at the quilts as Art as well as a craft that dates way back in time.
I did the latest update for my cm550dx Brother scanncut. I also saw the new update in canvas for Foil kit. Wow another thing I will be looking forward too.
I see projects on canvas using the new foil. Looks like foil to me. Can not wait to see you introduce the new foil kit for us to see.
Happy Thursday,
Fawna

Listened to the podcast on my way home from work. You guys do such a great job, honestly I love listening to your banter and Julie, I felt like I was at the Quilt Fest … Elaine, you do an incredible job as ‘designated interviewer’ b/c just as I think “wish Julie would elaborate” or “wonder if she’ll talk about …. ” you ask the question! Really just so much fun to listen to the two of you. Next year I want to drive to Houston and attend, will definitely look for you if I do! Happy Thanksgiving!
