You may recall that I asked for guest post submissions a month or two ago. One of my favorite things about Art Journal Every Day is that in so many ways it has always been a community based project. If you've got an idea to share, be brave and do it! It benefits all of us whenever we can share our ideas and inspiration! Art journaling has truly changed my life for the better. I hope it has touched yours too!
I am very pleased to be a guest blogger on Julie’s blog today. Thank you Julie for having me.
Let me tell you more about myself. My name is Marlene Meijer-van Niekerk. I am an arts & crafts professional and originally from South Africa. I settled in Holland about 15 years ago, after a period of about 4 years in The Middle East.
I am married and a mother to two lovely children(10 &14), that really keeps me on my toes! I teach about 4 art journaling & playful painting classes a week and a few workshops every month.
I also teach online as a guest tutor, make youtube tutorials, design stamps and blog. My passion is mixed media and art journaling and everything that goes with that…..stamps, stencils, art supplies and books. During the day you can mostly find me in my small home based studio, where the creative processes takes place.
Today, I will share my unique, signature abstract watercolour technique with you. Hope you enjoy the sparks of inspiration in my video tutorial!

Loved this. I am scared of watercolours as I cannot paint representational art to save myself. This is a perfect way to play and enjoy using them without pressure for it to look like anything.
Plus seeing all the diffrent media you used gave me ideas for my Christmas wish list. Thanks.
