I'm super excited to share that I'm going to be teaching at CRAFT in Austin, TX September 16-18, 2016!  I'm teaching two classes that are meant to go together to create a three-day art workshop.  However you can take the two parts separately.  Friday, September 16 is Paint Print Stack:

from the Balzer Designs Blog: Two Classes in Austin, TX at CRAFT

We will be making stacks and stacks of colorful printed and painted papers, perfect for collage. I will share a multitude of techniques for monoprinting, stamping, stenciling, and painting patterns. We’ll develop a complete rainbow palette of collage papers for you to use in your artwork. My biggest art secret weapon and the thing that makes creating art quick and easy is having an enormous stash of these hand painted papers at my fingertips. Join me for a fun day filled with learning, laughter, and dirty hands!

Saturday & Sunday I'll be teaching my super popular Big Collage class:

from the Balzer Designs Blog: Two Classes in Austin, TX at CRAFT

Join me for an exhilarating two-day art workshop in which we’ll be creating big mixed media collages! Mixed media collage is an opportunity to combine the most thrilling parts of collage with your love of painting. Discover how working large changes your art and opens up exciting possibilities for detail, abstraction, and impact. Learn how easy it is to create recognizable images with tiny bits of paper. During class we will work on two pieces simultaneously, exploring different approaches to creating mixed media collage. Treat yourself to two days packed with ideas, techniques, and creativity!

Class runs from 10am-5pm each day.  Many of the supplies for both classes will be provided to you.  So take a peek at the class listings for the very minimal supply lists!

I hope you'll join me for a truly exciting three-day art-making extravaganza!  Contact CRAFT at (512) 900-9957 or sign up online!

Hope to see you in class!

  • This looks amazing!!! Do you have an online course for creating a large collage, with instructions similar to what you’ll be covering during this Craft workshop? I live in Honolulu and can’t make it to this workshop. I also just want to say that I love your artwork and all of the tips and artwork you share on your blog (both your own and ones you admire from museum visits and/or fans). I think this is only my second time commenting on your site but I’ve immensely enjoyed reading it for years. Mahalo a nui loa for sharing!!
