If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here. All of the previous posts can be found archived here. There is a flickr group for sharing right here. Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day! No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post. Thanks!
In December I shared a post called "How I Start." In that post I shared 4 spreads that were just lightly arted with no journaling. Today I want to share the finished pages with you! For reference, I'm also including the photo of how they started. I hope it helps you to "see" the process a bit better. Enjoy!
And here's the breakdown with some detail photos:
To finish my page I simply added some fancy lettering and some journaling.
I added a scratchy outline to each of the circles and then lots and lots of journaling!
For this one I added a face and some large text, along with some neatly arranged journaling.
I think this pages is probably the most transformed. I added a wash of color to everything, some fancy lettering, journaling, and some stamping.
As you can see, my pages may look like they took a lot of time an energy, but they're actually very quick little things. I just keep hacking away at them 10 minutes a day until they're finished!
Here is this week's linky list:
Thanks for stopping by!

Your pages are vibrant and full of energy! You really only spend 10 minutes a day on them? I work intermittently in my art journals & think that 10 minutes a day is absolutely doable.
Thanks again for the fabulous inspiration!
Peace,
Donna

Your pages do look like they take lots of time to complete. I see some faces peering back at me. I have always liked the way you use your tags on a page.

Nice artistic pages, Julie! As always, great colors, drawing and layers. Like the way you journal around-the-page, too. 🙂

Wow. I really appreciate the before and after shots. Sometimes I don’t feel like thinking and just want to art up some pages, but as a new art journaler I think I have to finish them before I start another one. Too much pressure. Thanks for showing these!

Julie – I’m sure you have said many time before, but what are you writing with? I am now doing my written journaling in a moleskine because I can’t just zoom-write like I need to for journaling, on painted pages. I have every pen known to man so far…help. um and thanks!

New journaler, and still exploring lots of stuff — I love seeing your journal pages on Friday! I’m still developing anything resembling a style, and it’s so cool to see your work in stages, and so many other linked pages.
I am curious as to how your tags are attached into your journal in that last spread. I’m thinking some kind of a tape hinge, but I can’t see it. It is *definitely* giving me ideas, especially as I have a kind of inordinate love of tags, but never seem to know what to do with them.
Thank YOU for sharing so much of your work on this blog!

So sorry I missed you at CHA because I wanted to thank you in person for all the inspiration and creative input you send out to the universe. Maybe next January if you’re at CHA again. I thought it was a gas this year as everyone seems to be awakening from the recession at last. Really appreciate all your daily journaling samples. And the Gelli plate class. Bravo!

always love seeing your process~!
it’s surprising how each of us interprets the ‘journaling’ part of art journaling. some of us write our hearts out and some of us let the art speak for itself and then there are those of us that land somewhere in between those two marks . . .
the pages are always wonderful regardless, and i enjoy seeing what others are doing with their daily art journaling.
thank you for the linky party and for all of the inspiration that you share.
