If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here. All of the previous posts can be found archived here. There is a flickr group for sharing right here. Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day! No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post. Thanks!
I've got some daily pages to share with you today! These are from the end of February and the beginning of March. For whatever reason, I was a really bad art journaler in March and didn't make it into the art journal every day. C'est la vie. I figure any art journaling time is better than none, right?
The photo is from a take out menu I got in the mail. I thought it was rather fabulous, so I cut it out and used it!
This section of the page is an older piece of unfinished art (with an uneven edge) that I simply bound into the journal when I created it. I love that there is nothing wasted when you've got an art journal to put it in!
The tag is also an old piece of art experimentation. The scalloped book page heart was given to me years ago and I finally found a home for it! I love that!
Not every drawing has to be a masterwork. Clearly.
She's not beautifully rendered, but there's some emotion there, so that makes me happy!
The star is on a piece of sticky back canvas. You can just see the edge of the canvas in the photo above. It was a sample from a class I took years ago. Again, it has finally found a home. :)
That's a tape transfer on the back of my tag. It was a sample I made during a class I taught in January. I saved it, knowing it would be useful some day. And some day is now!
Recognize anything?
Underneath the heart I painted is one of my gel skin experiments!
One of the things about the ScanNCut is you get a postive and a negative of your image. This was trash I couldn't bear to throw away!
Recently I've gotten bored with how I use the same number stamps every day and I've started to change it up. A return to how I used to do it!
This was influenced by the class I've been taking at MoMA. We had just learned about Newman and his zips on this particular day.
I often get asked about my white pen of choice. It's the white Sharpie.
Embossing powder is a great way to make stamping pop on a black background.
There are times when I just love a mindless task. All these little white dash lines are evidence of that fact.
Used my Moonlight Pens and a Gold Pen Touch pen to color the feather.
So, that's a quick peek at what I've been up to! How about you?
Here's this week's linky list:

Thanks for sharing, Julie. I really wish I had something to share. Sadly my end f March was a bit short on the art and the journaling.

This post is really inspiring! So much so that I’m apprehensive to try blog about my first art journal page ha!
Art journaling is something I’ve been meaning to get into for a while, so thanks for the inspiration – I now have loads of ideas to get me started!
Keep it up 🙂

I just had to respond to the post, the first thing that hit me was the term “art experimentation” I just love that, because it means we can play and experiment, and not stress that it is not art because it is not perfect.
I think your blog and your artwork, which I have been following for a long time, more than most any other has taught me to give myself the gift of freedom to just do it. Love to see the places you go with your art, I wouldn’t do some of the things you do, but it seems that that is the point of it to show us that we can go and experiment and try and fail and fix and just relax into the arty goodness of it. We are not having to prove anything to anyone.
