Mom and I have an argument on this episode — like a talking over each other and accusing the other of being wrong argument.  Give it a listen:

If you do not see the podcast player above, please click on this link.  On the off chance that you've never listened to a podcast or don't get why anybody would want to, here are some facts: (1) Podcasts are convenient. It's a recording that is available to you whenever and wherever you'd like to listen. You can pause, stop, start, fast forward, and rewind. Stream it through Apple Music or any podcast service. (2) Podcasts are great for listening to while making art. They provide intellectual stimulation and create a bit of company (like hanging out with friends) without the visual distraction of the TV. (3) Podcasts can inspire and educate you. I often find myself jotting down notes when I listen to a podcast. There's so much I want to remember.

  • I always look forward to listening to the many pearls of wisdom on the Julie & Eileen Podcast!!. I was so happy to read JoAnn’s comment. I too have been making so many journals using up paper pads of Bristol board and other paper I have had stored for years. My husband continues to ask, what are you going to do with all of these? What do you need all of these for? YES…..FOR THE PURE JOY!! And using up paper that I have collected and didn’t use. I will more likely to use it bound in a journal ;=) Thank you so much for sharing!! I am not alone. YES!!!!

  • Can Eileen please say which day in the NY TIMES this article was posted. I have to download all the days of the paper and when I keep searching the article does not pop up. I can no longer read the news. I am so bothered that I am unable to do anything other than voting to change our government and country from spinning down and out of control. Thank you!

  • I had to turn off the podcast right after the comments about our “current education” system. I am a tired retired teacher, wife of a teacher, mother of a teacher, sister of a teacher, sister in law of a teacher, and aunt to two teachers. We are creative. We do allow our students to be creative and encourage free and individual thought. You need to go to the source of our issues, not berate us all the time. Some teachers are a problem, but we don’t have the power to let them go. Too much money is being spent on computers and testing. We have to teach our students how to take the tests. But we go beyond, almost like, “What is the answer you think the test will want? Now, what are other possible answers, and why?” always why. Please don’t be offended by my comments; we just need people to understand and know what is going on under the tests and the computer work. Thank you, I love both of you and this podcast, and now I will go back and listen to the rest of it.

  • This is just me coming back after the finish. I still stand by what I said, and I know you will try to understand. On being stuck, I: change activities, take a break, don’t try to force it every day, and then just sit down and start creating. I am hyperactive attention deficit, and that’s how I have to handle everything. I get antsy and must move, as you mentioned; I have to be reading to take in what someone is saying. I get in trouble for that all the time. I walk to think through things. And FYI, we could hear the text going on, didn’t have to be on Zoom. Take care and love.

  • Thanks once again for your podcasts. I just listened as I make gelli art which is how I can concentrate on what you all are saying. Just sitting n staring into space to listen isn’t my way to learn. Making my own art is how I get through the long days. You are such a big influence in my life right now. I love your shows and blogs. Keep them coming, please!!
