ScanNCut: So Many Techniques to Try

I'm always thinking about how to help you get the most out of your ScanNCut. Today I'm sharing lots of videos with techniques for you to try.

First up, a fabulous new feature that you've been asking for for years: the ability to curve text in CanvasWorkspace.  This function has been added to CanvasWorkspace for PC and CanvasWorkspace for Mac.  Find the instructions for CanvasWorkspace for Mac in this video:

And here is the clear place card I shared in the video:

I also like it with a line of acrylic paint across the back:

And now, did you know that it's incredibly easy to change a .png (or .jpg) into a .fcm file (a.k.a. compatible with your ScanNCut) using CanvasWorkspace Online. CanvasWorkspace Online is free web-based software that can be used on your computer or mobile device in the browser of your choice.  Watch the video for the how-to:

Here is the gift box I cut from vinyl in the video:

I'm here to solve your ScanNCut problems! So how do you cut a decorative edge across a sheet of paper? Sometimes it's too short and other times it's too long, which risks cutting into (or through) your mat! Eeek! Well, no worries. I have a solution for you and it's soooo easy! Watch the video for the how-to.

Here's an example of how you might use that cut edge to make a pretty card:

And finally, there's a brand new function for your ScanNCut DX machine: paper piercing!

In this video tutorial I demonstrate how to take a built-in leaf design and transform it into a paper piercing design with an offset outline that will cut around the pierced design. It's fun and easy and looks great!

Please note that this function is only for ScanNCut DX machines.  Here's another look at that design and the difference between the "top" and "bottom" of the pierced design:

  • After taking your live class on the Scan NCut I actually understand what you were showing. Is that a true date on the place card?
