I think that this is the last of the posts from Paris. At the top of Montmartre, is Sacré-Couer — a beautiful church. I might almost say that I think it's better than Notre Dame…but don't tell anyone that I said that! Take a peek and judge for yourself:
It was beautiful and filled with art and artistic touches. When we emerged from the church, there were two young men singing that soldier song from the Bizet opera, Carmen. It was pretty magical.

Lovely to see these photos (and all your Paris shots!), Julie, but I am very surprised you were allowed to take them. The official stance is ..”Photography is not permitted inside the Basilica in order to preserve an appropriate atmosphere for prayer. Please cooperate with our security staff.” I was there a few weeks ago and was disappointed that I was not able to take a photo. The staff were quite forceful in telling visitors it was not allowed.

Well, I had a different experience. Everyone was taking photos and no one said a word. Were you there in a Sunday? Aka a day of worship?

No, we were there on Friday, three weeks ago. I was surprised that we couldn’t take photos because there had been no such notice at Notre Dame. I started to take a photo, shortly after we came in and was approached and told it was not allowed. As we continued around, there were lots of shots I would have loved to capture … but throughout, there were security people pouncing on photographers! Glad you were able to capture the beauty! 🙂

I have so enjoyed your pictures from Paris – one of my favourite cities. Thanks for sharing! And I do I agree with you – Sacré Coeur is far more beautiful than Notre Dame, even though Notre Dame is veri impressive (on one visit to Notre Dame I forgot to check the time and ended up spending an hour in mass, which also was quite impressive)

And I almost missed getting back on the tour bus wandering in such grandeur. For the life of me I cannot remember which cathedral it was! Paris is spectacular.
