Hello out there! Here's a little bit about life right now:
This is me right now:
My current art obsession is: The Pocket Palette
A student gifted me with a palette that I love, love, love. It's a tiny (see the size comparison) palette with 14 small watercolor pans on a magnetic base. You can fill it with your watercolors of choice (I filled mine with QoR watercolors). It's amazingly small and light!
My current life obsession is: Fall. It's my favorite season.
I'm loving: the SAQA online Seminar on Surface Design.
I joined SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Association) last week and happily discovered that they were hosting an online seminar on surface design. I've been watching some of their video conversations with various surface design experts and they're fabulous! Feeding my brain with all sorts of new information!
I'm hating: that the stores are full of Christmas and it isn't even Halloween!
(That said, it's a pretty cute little stocking.)
My home is: A landmine of crafts.
Seriously. Walk into any room and you probably have to step around some kind of craft project.
My life is: All about counting Weight Watchers Points.
I've been very successful with Weight Watchers and whenever I get away from my ideal weight, I hop back On Plan to get back to where I want to be.
My favorite art project I made this month but haven't shown on the blog yet: This sketchbook page:
I love it because I didn't think I could do it. The scene was so busy and crazy that I felt very intimidated by the thought of painting it. But, I decided to just break it down item by item and I love the way it turned out! Really captures the scene and the mood!
Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. If you'd like to see more behind-the-scenes life stuff, check out my vlog – I post a new art and life filled vlog to YouTube every single Wednesday.

Love your blog. Love your Vlog! Two questions: do you do Weight Watchers online or in person? Do you want any used tea bags for art? You mentioned it once and I keep thinking you need to try it! (I would empty the used leaves-they are fun to use as pages for a journal and you can sew on them!)

So happy to see you made it to the Head of the Charles!
Your blog followers that are rowers are thrilled to see you are making it to the waterfront activities. Lucky, lucky you, Julie!
Try to take an elevator to the top floor of one of the hotels facing the river for a breathtaking view and a completely different perspective of the event and the city in general. One of our local watercolor artists made a spectacular painting from that vantage point. I’ll email you a photo of it as soon as I get permission from the artist.

I am so happy to hear you’re enjoying SAQA Seminar! I have been reading your blog for years so it was an unexpected delight to see my face pop up in that image of the video conversation with Susan Shie. (Isn’t she amazing?)
