Art Journal Every Day: February into March 2016

If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek.  Even if you're not on social media, you can see everything (from twitter, pinterest, instagram, and facebook) that uses that hashtag here.

Today I'm sharing some daily pages from the end of February and the beginning of March.  I've been doing (almost) daily pages for several years now.  I've tried out lots of different books, heaps of different techniques and ideas, and filled many multiple journals. And you know what?  I never get tired of it.  In fact, I look forward to being able to art journal every single day.  Some days I'm sad when I realize that I already journaled for the day.  But I suppose that's why I have other journals — non-daily ones.  Other places to play and experiment and expend some energy!  Take a peek at what I've been up to:

This face is an old one that I reworked.  It was done probably five or more years ago on a file folder.  That file folder was incorporated into this junque journal and so I fixed up the face a bit when I stumbled upon it in the journal.

The text was partially covered up in the "fixing up" process.

I added this confetti-style background with markers.

I added the flower for a little something extra.  The neon pens really make it pop off the page.

The text is a set of stamps I carved for Carve December.  I simply colored them in and added a bunch of date stamping.

I like to include little bits and pieces from my life in my art journal.  This "I voted" sticker seemed to fit perfectly.

This page has two interactive elements — a hanging heart….

…and a flap.

I've been putting more and more interactive bits and pieces in my journals these days.  I really like them.

  • Loving the neon colors in the flower (I probably would not have tried that otherwise, I am definitely not a neon girl) and the bits of memorabilia that make the pages pertinent, relevant, and personal. And memorable to us, too, as we follow this journey with you. Always a pleasure to see your work. #artjournaleveryday Yes!
