I am so super excited about the new ScanNCut accessories!  And there's good news: all of these accessories will work with **any** ScanNCut machine!

I think this one may be my favorite of the new accessories.  It's the Universal Pen Holder tool, which allows you to use virtually any pen with your ScanNCut.  In the video, I'm using a Sakura Moonlight pen.  Watch and get excited:

How about some self-adhesive stencil material?  Brother has come out with large (12" x 24") sheets of it!  Watch the video for all the info on it:

Here is the stencil I cut in the video:

Next up is the Stamp Starter Kit!  You can make your own clear silicone stamps!  Watch the video to see how super duper easy it is:

I used the stamp to create this tag:

Pretty darn cool, right?!

If you're going to be at CHA (an industry-only trade show) in January, you can try out all of these new toys in my ScanNCut class.  Here's a short video I did for CHA about the class, the CHA show, and me!  (I'm proudest of my little animated food truck image.)

Thanks for stopping by!

Disclosure: I am a paid spokesperson for the Brother ScanNCut, however it is a product that I love and use.

  • Hi Julie,
Just wanted you to know that I have all these new accessories that you are demonstrating here. I am just waiting to get the new 12×24 middle tack mat. I have the middle 12×12.
As a matter of fact I was using my universal pen holder last night with just an ordinary ball point pen made by Pilot. It has just black ink in it.
I love all the new accessories especially the stamp kit. I will be making some stencils from the one point designs in my older model CM550DX plus some of my own designs.
I will also be using the designs that come with the stamp kit and make up some of my own designs too.
So for those of you that have the older Scan n cut version you can use these new accessories.
I did a test run on paper to see how my manufactured pattern drew out with my scanncut. I used one of the little markers to draw out the lines and notches.
With that said I really need to figure out how to get all the writing off of the scanned in Pattern. To really have it cut out a piece of fabric using the manufactured store bought pattern with only the lines and the notches. When I start to delete the extras is takes away the notches too.
With that said you can make up your own paper patterns and use them to hand cut out your fabric or set the sizes that you need in the scanncut and just do a fabric cut. Then sew it out.
Which I really like doing. I made a China tea cup zippered case to store one of my antique teacups in when not displayed in a cabinet. I used my scanncut to make the pattern pieces I needed. Worked out perfect size wise and cut fabric really well.
Also too I really like the new brother scanncut2.
Thank you Julie for sharing this information. I love watching your videos. I really learn a lot by watching.

  • Thanks Julie, I just today got the Christmas Wish Booklet from Brother and I saw just a picture of these new accessories. How great that you have them featured in video so I could see how they work. I have had some trouble cutting vinyl in the past and now I see Brother actually sells vinyl. Have you tried their vinyl and if so how does it compare to vinyl that you buy. Some I have cut have been fine and others, (the thin ones) have not cut so well. Could I use the fabric mat for the thinner vinyl? I might try that after watching your fabric videos. Again, thank you so much for the interesting videos. and Happy holidays!

  • Hi Julie. I was re-watching some of the scan n cut videos you recently did and I ran across the one where you are doing a/some class/classes for CHA. Have you thought about doing an online class A to Z on the scan n cut? Just curious. Or if you want to visit Phoenix and teach, I have a guest room waiting! I know online classes are a lot of work, but you have mad skills and I’m sure I’m not the only one that would be interested.
