I've gotten a lot of questions lately about how to leave a comment on my blog.  In this quick tutorial I show you how to leave a comment if you subscribe to the blog via e-mail and how to leave a comment if you're simply viewing the blog on the web. I hope it's helpful to you.

If you've never left a comment and you'd like to try, I suggest trying to leave a comment on this post!  Just say "hi" and you'll know that you can easily do it in the future!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • Hi Julie, you are so special and I love the blog,I look forward to reading it everyday! My comment today is on Scan N Cut. I want to use the 12 x 24 mat to cut an applique (scroll-type on fabric) to sew to the leg of my jeans. The 24″ mat should work for that. But, I have had problems getting my design done in Scan N Cut Canvas, and then when I go to the machine to change the settings to the larger mat, I also ran into trouble. Could you do something on the larger mat’s use. I would also like to draw designs on a yoke for shirts, so that I can free motion stitch on lines of a scroll pattern. Thanks for giving this some thought.

  • Hi Julie. I have been a follower of yours for years. I have found your email tutorials very inspiring and use them a lot. I hand carve most of my own stamps these days and use many of the more involved ones for making my own stencils. I find my ‘Journal’ pages great places for trying out new products, new techniques and new carvings/designs…I am now also, using my ‘altered books’ as journals, too.
Thanks for the tip on posting comments on the blog. It gave me the incentive to do so – and yes I often read them from others.

Thanks for the tip on “leaving comments.
I read your tip on using Murphy’s soap to remove dried paint, and wanted to know if this works on acrylics or only on oil paints.
Any advice on removing acrylic from brushes would be helpful.

Regular scrapbooking is also not for me. Often I make my own books or alter books when I need more pages. So for me, this is the perfect giveaway. Have my fingers crossed here…..

  • I enjoy your blog immensely. My favorites are when you post your own pages of your art journal. When you post video – I immediately watch them (over and over again)…. Art journaling does not come natural by any means for me – but I enjoy it! Your blog helps me so much! Thank you for sharing all that you do!!!!

  • I have gelli plates and I love them. I don’t consider myself an artist, but playing with the colors, the techniques…I find myself spending a whole afternoon and the time flies by. What I enjoy most is the endless possibilities, each print is different, and you can keep changing the order, the color, the supplies and surprise yourself with new prints!!

  • I just watched the video about the gelli plate….I do not have one but think it would be a good addition to my arsenal of art supplies. What impressed me most about the tutorial was the “discharge” method of stamping. I was challenged to look at my stamps and ‘discharge the ink’ or I think you used the phrase “stamp off” as your technique. I am intrigued with thinking of creating design by emphasizing the negative aspect of paint application. Thank you for the inspiration.

  • I love my Gelli plate not only for the monoprints made from the plate but especially for the unique, patterned papers generated from working with the Gelli which are used in collage and mixed media paintings. My Gelli has inspired countless other works. I consider it one of my best creative tools.

  • I love my gelli plate. It is so versatile and quick. If I don’t like an image I use it for scrap (small pieces of collage) and then roll over it and start anew. The images you can create with it are endless. I agree with so many others that the second pull is usually better than the first! Thanks for all your help and inspiration

  • I have the large gelli plate and I love it. I use it for so many things. The deli paper prints make gorgeous papers to use in collage or adhere to any surface that needs embellishment. The card stock prints I embellish with various pens and turn them into amazing pieces and of course you can’t help but turn them into cards for any occasion. I would love to explore the round ones!
