When other people have birthdays I see an opportunity for crafty fun! Is that selfish?
My friend Bethany celebrated her birthday over the weekend and so I made her a little gift.
I decorated the box top…
…with a small gelli print (that's the "Graceful Flower" stencil)…
…and a hand lettered ticket.
I love a decorated box top. It's like a card that's included with the gift.
The earrings…
…are glass beads on a silver wire.
I hammered the wire to create the droplet shapes you see. They're beautiful and fuctional — those droplets keep the beads on the wire.
Do you use people's birthdays as an excuse to make something? It's a win-win situation, right? You get to have the fun of creating and the recipient gets a lovely handmade gift!

Definitely a win-win situation. I have made mini-albums for gifts and Auntie and Grammy love them! I still get kuddos over a baby shower gift that was an album that they could just add pics to and that was years ago.

Yes. My mom always gets something special from me that I have made… I guess we are never too old for that.
I also give handmade gifts to my kids’ teachers- they like the handmade gifts best because they are not embarrassed by your generosity that way…
I give cosmetic bags (with my art on them) to my friends- ah well– yes, any chance I can get.
