This past weekend I taught two classes at A Work of Heart in San Jose, CA. It's a wonderful store with a big wall of stencils…
…and excellent taste in books…
…and the owner, Andrea, is a lovely and generous soul who made my visit completely wonderful!
On Saturday night I taught my 3-hour "Stamp Carving 101" class to a group of 17 wonderfully talented ladies.
These ladies came up with so many beautiful stamp designs that I left class feeling inspired and excited to carve some new stamps! I love getting to teach something I love to people who are excited and creative.
Tomorrow I will share some photos from the full day class I taught! Until then….
Thanks for stopping by!
Looks like fun. I’ve always wanted to carve my own stamps but haven’t gotten around to getting the supplies. It’s on my To Do list though. Coming to Seattle any time soon?

It’s not the stamp one, but I just enrolled in your Getting Started with Collage class, and I’m eagerly anticipating all I’m going to learn! I bought one of your stencils (the city one) from The Ink Pad in NYC, and I’ve been following you ever since 🙂 Can’t wait!

Julie, I hope you’re enjoying our super-gorgeous California weather. Aren’t you having a class in Orange County, California soon? I would love to take your stamping class, but for now I’ll enjoy using your wonderful new stamping book. (BTW, you look amazing!!!)

Julie – I had so much fun in your Stamp Carving class last Saturday! Your personality and teaching style was wonderful. I am now ready to carve my own stamps and get away from the mass produced ones. And yes, a Box Cutter makes all the difference! LOL! Enjoy your time in California and hope to see you in another one of your classes next time you are out this way.

Awesome class! I just got your book and am going to dive in and do it…as soon as I find the stamp-carving tools I bought last year! That’s a good thing about having a book – there aren’t deadlines for working with them. I’ve begun reading it and looking and your examples and I know it’s going to be so much fun! I sure wish you could come to Albuquerque. As far as I know, we only have two rubber stamping stores. China Phoenix 2 would probably be a good fit, style-wise. The other one – whose name I can’t remember – is mostly scrapbooking. I’d go to a scrapbooking class though. Anything you teach is certainly worth learning!!
