I have rented a car (being a New Yorker, I don't own a car) for two weeks and one day. Road trip! Woo!

Today I am driving to Rupert, VT where I will spend five days as a student. I will be taking a collage class from Jane Davies. I'm very excited to be a student. I love learning and I love the camraderie of a class environment. I think Jane's work is wonderful and very different from my own — though I suspect we use many of the same techniques. That's part of the beauty of art and personal expression, isn't it? Different results from the same supplies and techniques. I'm very much looking forward to experiencing her as a teacher.
After class I'm headed to my Mom's house for a little R&R. Although, if I'm totally honest I have a bit of an agenda while I'm there. A few artful little projects that need tending. And one really big and staggeringly awesome art project that totally involves her…I promise to spill the beans very soon!
On August 25 & 26 I'll be teaching two classes at Absolutely Everything, so that means a quick jaunt out to Topsfield, MA, or point D on the map above. I'm super excited about the classes. I think I'm most excited about meeting all of the people who have Facebooked or e-mailed or tweeted to say they're coming! It will be great to put some faces with the names!
Two weeks and one day is a very long time to be away from home. I've packed two suitcases: one filled with clothes and the other one with art supplies! I'm going to try my very best to art journal from the road every single day. I've got plenty of blog posts lined up for you here and I'll try to find an internet connection to post a bit of what I'm up to in real time! I have good intentions, but you just never know!

BTW, I got my local pbs station to air Scrapbook Soup. All I had to do was call and ask nicely lol. Probably an easier sell since they were showing it on one of their cable settings and I only get broadcast :D.

This little town is full of art expressions and it inspired me in a tremedous way. I had you in my mind so many times thinking how much you would love to see everything in that fantastic magical little town. Today I made my first mix midea piece, I love it!! it makes me happy… I don´t know that anyone else would like it but it MAKES ME HAPPY!!! Thank you so much for being an inspiration everyday. I would love to take a course with you someday… I will have to plan on it and make it happen.
