Home again today and I am overwhelmed. So many e-mails to be returned. So many piles of stuff to be put away. So much to be done. I spent most of today cleaning and unpacking and cleaning and unpacking. Truth be told, I never really cleaned up from the chaos of creating for CHA. So the piles of stuff from creating for Quilting Arts TV and Scrapbook Memories TV were just sitting on top of the original piles. Ick.

Later this week I will have a post about my day on the set of Quilting Arts TV, a massive Scrapbook Memories TV giveaway (yay!), and a Kenner Road tutorial. But for now, I'm sharing my drawings from my weekly portrait drawing class.  I really like the way this first one turned out:

Drawing1
I zoomed in on the model's face super close.  I think it captures something about his spirit, which is a nice thing.  Here's a peek at the model in a slightly different pose:

Model1
We worked with a different model for the second half of the class.  I think this drawing is still a little rough…

Model2
…but I like the way the beard turned out.  Here is the model with his portrait:

To see the rest of the drawings from the class, click here.  Only one more portrait drawing class left!  I'm looking forward to it!

Finally, Julie McGuffee has a great post on her blog with tons of photos from our week of filming Scrapbook Memories TV!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • Your portrait drawings are AMAZING. This first one that you mentioned you like reminds me of Van Goch’s work with all the harsh strokes, that compliment each other. One darkens and the other high lights to represent every single shade and contour. Absolutely amazing!!! WTG!!!

  • I’ve always thought that it would be great to have little scrappy fairies that would put all my supplies back in place when I’m done with them;-)

  • You’ve come a long way with these drawings and I mean that in the best way! I honestly don’t see much difference in the drawings themselves but seeing how you write about them has been a transformation :o) It’s obvious your confidence has received a huge boost and it’s so great to read!
