Oh yeah, baby! It's peek time!
Prima has an adorable line called "So Cute," which is debuting at Summer CHA. The double sided paper has boy designs on one side and girl designs on the other side. I used it to create this layout about my brother (isn't he the cutest?):
The patterned paper was pre-printed with “brown paint” edges. That printed paint edge inspired me to actually edge the photograph with the same color of brown paint (I mixed white and brown until I got the right shade). I also painted all those circles with that same brown paint.
I replaced the “o” in the word “love” with a page pebble. I love the way that page pebbles add a bit of flash and shine, but in a masculine way.
There is a pocket behind the photo that holds my journaling tag. I had a really long story to tell and this allowed me to tell all of it while keeping the page looking very clean.
Prima also has a very girly and floral line debuting at CHA Summer called "Annalee." I had a chance to play with the papers, pebbles, flowers, butterfly, chipboard, and *STENCILS* from the collection! Take a peek:
Check out the detail in the upper left hand corner:
Aren't the new butterflies divine? I want all the patterns! And take a peek at this layered flower:
The base of the flower is chipboard (beautifully distressed canvas surfaced chipboard – it's delicious), two paper flowers (with the sweetest soft patterns), and a page pebble with a ring of rhinestones. The page pebbles come with the ring of rhinestones around them, but they're not actually attached, so you can use the ring and the pebble separately, as I did elsewhere on the page.
I love how easy it is to create soft and beautiful layouts with all of Prima’s products, but I wanted to grunge my layout up a bit. Roughen it up so that it matched the subject of the layout – a city trip. I ripped the top part of the layout right off and distressed the edge. I whited out the center section of the floral paper with gesso. I used spray ink and stencils to add a bit of graffiti appeal.
And I added some dimension with all the hand sewing.
I think all of these techniques create a more urban feeling to the
page.
Finally, here is a layout that uses Prima's new "Road Trip" collection. I have to admit that it was a bit harder for me to work with this line, just because it's a bit clean and cutesy for my style. But the good thing about a challenge is that it really gets your juices going, you know? And in the end I *love* this layout!
You can see the details below:
This is super cute chipboard that has glitter (which doesn't rub off, the surface is smooth).
Haphazard stitching, handwriting, and some airbrushed letters. All favorites of mine!
I'm planning to roll out some more sneaks in the next few weeks, and the Prima blog will have plenty too, so stay tuned!
Thanks for stopping by!

thanks for the peeks – gorgeous, as always!!

Outstanding artistry, Julie! I love your layouts.
I’ve always wondered how scrapbookers add typewritten journaling on tags.
So, how did you get your computer-generated journaling on the tag of your “Matthew” layout?

I printed it out onto a piece of paper. Then I taped my tag to the paper — over the journaling — with removable tape and fed it back through the printer!

Absolutely stunning! I am loving that “so cute” line–it’s a different look for Prima. Also, love all the flowers of “Queens” against the black. The details on that are gorgeous! And of course, love the urban feel of TWO. Cool stitching and airbrushed letters. You amaze me the way you can take something that is not necessarily your style, and turn it into something entirely your own. Incredible!!
