I taught two classes at the Ink Pad on Saturday.  They were brand new classes that I've never taught before and I was a bit nervous.  This was also the first time that I brought my full A/V set up (laptop, projector, etc.)  Normally I depend on the location to have it, or I simply do without.  But I really think it's a better class with the slides and videos.  Demos can be very frustrating and this way, everyone has a good view.  I do still, of course, do some live demos, but I find people like having the slides too.

First up was Introduction to Art Journaling.  This was a technique heavy class.  I threw a ton of information, new products, ink, and paint at these ladies and they gobbled it all up.  Take a peek:

I had two sets of moms and daughters in the class, which was very fun!  I love to craft with my Mom, so it was nice to see that other people do too.

The second class was Paint and Patterned Paper Collage. I wish that we had had another hour for everyone to finish, but a few people managed to get it done.  And everyone had a good time.  A few students from the morning stayed and took this class too, which was lovely.  Here are the pics:

We spent quite a bit of time working on painting a pleasing face and I'm proud to say that the result is so many beautiful ladies!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • Looks like a couple of great classes! Could either or both be adapted to online for those of us living far away from NYC?
