If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, the concept is simple: It's a commitment to take ten minutes each day to do something in your art journal. No need to finish anything or even like it. It's about making the time to nourish your creativity every day! If you have the time to flip through your phone, you have the time to Art Journal Every Day. If you'd like to share what you make, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek. You can find new Art Journal Every Day posts here on the blog most Fridays. The archives go back to the first Art Journal Every Day post in 2010.
I'm on a bit of a bookbinding binge at the moment. And I'm always looking for new-to-me binding techniques. I found two tutorial videos that I wanted to share with you. The first one is a great way of making a super fat book and I looooove the "Fall" journal she shows at the beginning of the video.
I have great plans to sit down and make one of these in my own style. And probably a lot bigger!
Next up, the cutest little teeny tiny books!
These would be perfect for turning into necklaces, don't you think? A great gift for any bibliophile in your life!
If you haven't tried bookbinding before, it's really much easier than you might think. I hope you'll give one of these tutorials a try or I can highly recommend this bookbinding book, which is finally back in print AND it's now in color. I have the black & white original and I'm vaguely toying with buying a copy of this anniversary edition.
Thanks for stopping by!

Do you use a punching cradle as shown in the accordion journal? I do not but that really looks like a convenient tool. Wondering if you can purchase one of those or if you need to make your own.

Cindy – You can absolutely make one with bookboard. I’ve used mine for over ten years. Two good tutorials are Sarah Bryant’s https://bigjumppress.blog/2012/12/24/how-to-make-a-collapsible-punching-trough/ and Paperchipmunk’s hhttps://paperchipmunk.com/?p=119

Thank you Julie. I can’t stop making teeny tiny journals now. And I admire Ali Manning so much I joined her Handmade Book Club. Again, you are an inspiration.
