As you may know, I decided that my #PrintInktober goal is to make hand printed papers that I can use to make Christmas cards.  I thought I would show you how much you can do with one sheet of paper. I followed the pattern building principles I taught in lesson one of the #PrintInktober class to create this bold pattern:

And here are the six cards I made with that one sheet of hand patterned paper:

The original print was 8.5×11" and the cards are all 5×7."  I actually was amazed by how far that single sheet went.  I originally thought I'd make 3 cards, but then I had more paper. So I kept making cards!

  • I love the idea of transforming papers into cards! I may have to borrow that so I actually get cards out this year. LOL! I love that these are wonderfully unique and definitely don’t look like something out of a box.

  • This is brilliant, Julie. I am currently in the process of making Xmas cards so it couldn’t have been timed better…..love this technique and how cleverly you managed 6 cards out of the original 8×11 print. Brilliant!

  • I too loved them all but I’ll have to go with the woven card and the last stitched card as my faves…

  • They’re all awesome! My favorite are the two cards (upper and lower) on the right in the top picture. You inspired me to make gel print Christmas cards for next year. We just moved across the country and I won’t have my art supplies unpacked before the holidays so no cards this year. Thank you for everything you do, Julie!

  • What a great idea! Love how you took one sheet and made six gorgeous, different cards. You’ve inspired me to get cracking on making some of my own. Thank you, as always, for helping me visualize possibilities. BTW, the folks on your card list are really lucky!

  • Julie – ALL your cards are fantastic! AND the Christmas tree HAS to be 1 of your hand-carved stamps. I’ve tried my hand at carving stamps. NOT as easy as I thought it might be. I really shouldn’t be allowed to use a carving knife!

  • Gorgeous! I think my favorite is the top middle, but I love the stitched paper ribbon on the top right card!
