I spent several days last week prepping for the third season of the Mixed Media Workshop (I'll have a post all about it next week). One of the segments that we do on the Mixed Media Workshop is called "She Said – She Said" and involves Jenn and me challenging each other to use the same supply, technique, or inspiration. Then we get together and compare what we each made. For this upcoming season, Jenn — who is an avid collector of flea market finds — brought in a big pile of door plates — formally known as escutcheons (thank you jenniferpack for providing me with the correct word). Almost imediately I knew that I wanted to make a journal cover with it. At first I was just going to make the cover, but then I just couldn't stop myself from making the journal to go with it! Take a peek:
Sadly this journal cover in photos is not half way as cool as it is in person. I poured tar gel over the top and it's all shiny and dimensional and wickedly awesome!
