Hey you guys! Today I have a quick tutorial video on creating really cool collage paper using the new 4" round Gelli Plate and Balzer Designs stamps.

The gelli plate makes the designs seem so complicated. I love what you’ve done with the small round. Honestly, I have the large gelli plate but haven’t used it yet. The small round would be wonderful to work with, especially with a quick session like I usually am in need of. Be Blessed….

I love my gelli plates! I really like how quick and easy they are to use. They make experimenting fun. I don’t have to worry about dragging out lots of stuff, and the only problem is you can go on forever playing with them! I really like the new small sizes that you can use as stamps- so cool! Thanks for the great tutorial. I also love your stamps!!!

I have a small square gelli plate but havent really used it….my attempts have yeilded some really ugly prints! Hahaha I would like to learn more and plan to try placing the plate on an acrylic block….maybe using it like a stamp will work better. I think the round ones would be much more useful tho!

I’ve had a gelli plate for over 2 years and I still love it! Use it often for journal backgrounds, artwork, greeting cards, etc. It opens up a world of artistic possibilities.

I have only one size of Gelli Plate because unfortunately you can’t get them here in Israel. It is a wonderful play ground for art making and I would be happy to have the opportunity to get some more sizes. I also love your stencils (the few I can get here). Love your work. I love printing and I so drawn to mandalas. I haven’t bought a round gelli plate because I keep thinking I shouldn’t need another plate, but I can see that it would be such a treasured way to combine my loves of the circle shape and the process of printing.

The gelli plate it so unique in the versatility of prints you can make. I really enjoy mine and would like the sizes you are giving away. I’m new at art journaling and can create fun wonderful designs using the gelli plate. If it doesn’t turn out the way I want I can use spray inks over it!

I just bought one and have yet to use it! But I love that each print will be unique and that it is a fast way to put done color on a surface.

My mom got a Gelli plate and she lets me use it every now and then. It’s so much fun to play with. I especially like using it to make cards that I’ll keep on hand for special occasions. I just love how I can layer some of my own stencils and create something original to give to someone I love. It makes a great gift!

I have the large one that I got for a gift a few years ago. Seeing tutorials on what you can do with the small ones makes me want to either cut up the big one or buy a small one. The gelli plate has changed how I do things in my art. For me, it’s like coloring outside the lines which was very liberating. Thanks for the great tutorial!

These are gorgeous. The black and white design would look great on a bag. Your stamps go really well on the gelli plate. I will have to get my gelli plate out again, sadly I don’t have the round one, that seems very cool and open to lots of uses.

I love the versatility of the plate. There are so many techniques to try! The bonus is that it is easy to maintain and clean. I love setting up my papers and paints on the patio table outside, this time of year, and spending an entire afternoon making a stack of prints and then trying to decide which one is my favourite. Utterly addictive!

I have been in the market for a gelli plate, but haven’t worked up to it yet. I keep thinking I should try a homemade one first, but then always forget to pick up the glycerin and gelatin packets at the store! Thanks for the lovely demo.

I think my favorite thing about the gelli plate is also the frustrating part, no two prints can ever be the same. It’s endless possibilities are so cool. Add an extra dab of a color and the result can be wildly different. Unlimited creativity. Yum.

Oh my goodness, the Gelli plates are fantastic! I own 4-5 in various sizes. I love that I can get going with printing in the time it takes me to pour a cup of water and find my paint colors. I just finished making a new batch of notecards, printing textures in circle shapes and then cutting them down to size to position on my notecards. Love the process and love the ease!

It’s absolute fun to sit at my desk and play with various color combinations. Adding stencils or just color, I cut sit there for hours. When I feel stressed or overwhelmed, I grab my Gelli plate and my cart of paint and just play for hours. It is my stress reliever.

I love the Gelli plates because I can make my own art for journals, decorative papers for books and collages. It is also a great part of a get together with friends when we Gelli together. We each learn from and are inspired by one another.

I’ve had to use the smooth back of my self-healing craft mat for gelli printing! I’ve held back on spending, trying to be frugal and use what I have to make do (I even used a paintbrush before I finally got a brayer!) instead of constantly buying new supplies. I love the instant gratification of my Gelli plate and how I can keep on layering paints and pulling off prints without too much cleanup in between. The looseness of the look is what I like and when the edges of a design are blurry and fuzzy the effect is casual and fun.

I have the 8×10 plate and love how quick and easy it is to create such a variety of papers. The only drawback is that once I get started I create so many printed papers that I can’t use them fast enough in other projects to justify making more! Needless to say that hasn’t stopped me!

My friend who is a planner had trouble with the randomness of the process. She had a need to know the outcome before she did the work which is not practical for a beginner. What frustrated her delighted me. I love the anticipation that comes from asking the question, “what happens if…?”
I think it is helpful to give one’s self permission to make some ugly prints, be ok with being a gelli plate beginner, and have fun.
I can’t wait to get the smaller size ones. My greatest challenge is to use the prints I have made before making more.

Whats not to love about gelli plate printing? I love my gelli plates, although I do not have any round ones!!! I think it is the endless playtime, use of color, and exponential combinations of textures, stencils, etc. that allows you to be so creative. And even the accidents are amazing. My fingers are crossed!
