I've been trying to think about how to describe Quilt Festival.  Words seem inadequate to describe the vast scope, scale, and impressive artistic skills on display.  This is the first of several looooong photo-heavy posts for you to enjoy.  I took photos of maybe 1/2 the quilts on display?  Maybe.  Maybe less than that.

Quilt Festival is divided into three parts: The Vendor Fair (where I always work in the ScanNCut booth), the Quilt Show (quilts on display), and the Classrooms (amazing classes for all levels).  The Quilt Show is made up of different "exhibits."  Where possible, I've tried to group my photos into the appropriate exhibits and include maker information.  It's a real labor of love to take all of these photos and edit them for your viewing pleasure!

There are quilts here that I love.
Quilts I'm impressed by.
Quilts I don't understand.
Quilts that make me think.
Quilts that redefine my thinking.
Quilts I think are ugly.
Quilts I think are beyond beautiful.
Quilts that make me doubt myself.
Quilts that inspire me to create.
So many quilts!

  • I so appreciate these posts you create. The signage along with the detail shots give me a greater understanding of each quilt. As I look through them quickly at first, I am surprised by how some just visually stoke a chord and I’m drawn to them. Then, reading and seeing the quilting details, I just shake my head in amazement. What a wonderful way to start the day. Thanks.

  • It DOES take a lot of time to match up images with signs and such. Thanks for putting forth the effort! I enjoyed seeing them and look forward to seeing more.
