I started Art Journal Every Day more than a decade ago.  This page is from 2010:

My only goal was to spread my deep love of art journaling.  Towards that end, I posted art journaling tutorials

…and more on my blog every single Friday for years and years.

I took an art journal with me when I traveled.

I made time for my art journal whenI was sick.

I sometimes managed to get to it every single day…

…and other times, there were gaps – big and small.

But, always it was there.  In the last few years, it has evolved.  I don't really journal in my journal any more.

Around the time that I stopped writing in my journals, I also stopped sharing pages as frequently.  But, I'm feeling like I'm ready to wade back into the sharing zone.  Yay!

So tell me: Do you still art journal?

Thanks for stopping by!

  • I use sketchbooks and studio books. I’m not sure they would be considered ‘journals’ as the only writing are notes to myself about the sketch, or ideas. I use them for ideas, experiments, and to work out problems. Some are actual sketches with pencil and/or charcoal. Some are painted with inks, acrylics, pastels, etc. Some are watercolor. Some are collaged. Just looking around my studio, I see about 20 ranging in various sizes and types. Some store bought and some handmade.

  • i call all of mine journals, many don’t have any writing. i test media and/or techniques in some but most are for enjoying color in as many ways as i can think to get on the paper. some have “journaling,” less have writing, many have only color, some have added text – usually stickers or a quick thought.
