Hello, friends! Here is a little bit about life around here right now:
Weaving, weaving, weaving. I spend A LOT of time every single day weaving paper.
It's both frustrating and exhilarating to be a beginner. Frustrating because I don't always get the results that I want and exhilarating because learning is exciting and consuming.
I am Wordle obsessed.
If you don't know about this simple but fascinating game (which you can only play once a day), here are the rules:
Some days it takes me a long time and some days I get it super quick. It's a lot of fun!
Well, he has claimed ownership of my studio. This week he started referring to it as HIS art studio.
He often announces that he wants to go upstairs and "work" with Mama or "make art in studio." He is always annoyed when I clean up his art supplies when he's not there. Because then he has to wait while we get them out again. Frustrating, I know. 😉
Current art crush?
This month's art crush is Yetunde Rodriguez aka yaytoonday. I love when her beautiful graphic screen prints and block prints pop up in my instagram feed. Check out some of her inspiring artwork:
Personally, I'm anxiously awaiting some bags re-appearing in her shop. In the meantime, I've been eyeing her fabric plant buckets…but I don't have any plants (and I can't keep them alive).
Help me justify my purchase. What else could I put in there?!
In any case, that's the scoop on life around here at the moment. If you're a Monthly Member, February's epic 30-minute personal vlog is up in the classroom and the studio vlog will be up soon.
What's the difference between a personal vlog and a studio vlog?
- Personal vlogs have a lot of daily life stuff (lots of baby) and a bit of random art content. They're pretty much like the old weekly vlogs you can still see on my YouTube channel. All Members have access to personal vlogs.
- Studio vlogs are art focused on a single art project or art-related topic. Past studio vlogs include: behind-the-scenes of putting together an online class, a studio tour, a peek into my sketchbook, a look at a day in the studio, etc. Maker Members & Super Learner Members have access to the studio vlogs.
And one final note: I'm doing a bit of early "Spring Cleaning" and retiring a whole bunch of online classes. Anyone who has purchased those classes will still have lifetime access (of course), but I'll be closing all new registrations on March 1. Here's the list of classes being retired:
