Hello, friends! Here is a little bit about life around here right now:
I'm about to launch "ScanNCut Club" on YouTube.
I'll have more details once everything is in place. It's something that I've been meaning to do for a long time and I finally made the time to get things started!
I have been marathoning Say Yes to the Dress and I find it fascinating!
I never had that wedding dress salon experience and I find it both tempting and frightening. Also, I need to know more about these people who spend $12,000 on their wedding dress. That must be one amazing wedding!
He's 20-months-old and the apple of my eye.
If it were up to him, he'd spend every day outside 100% of the time — no matter the weather. I'm less excited about standing in the rain or the boiling sun. But nevertheless, we go outside every day in every weather.
Current art crush?
I'm crushing on the pinks in Anna Price's art. Check it out:
I love all of her arches and the wonderful compositions that are packed with stuff to look at and yet still feel calming. It's magical.
So, there you have it! That's the scoop on life around here at the moment. If you're a Monthly Member, July's personal vlog and studio vlog are both in online classroom! You especially won't want to miss this month's studio vlog because I have completely reorganized my studio space and I'm taking you through the process!
What's the difference between a personal vlog and a studio vlog?
- Personal vlogs have a lot of daily life stuff (lots of baby) and a bit of random art content. They're pretty much like the old weekly vlogs you can still see on my YouTube channel. All Members have access to personal vlogs.
- Studio vlogs are art focused on a single art project or art-related topic. Past studio vlogs include: behind-the-scenes of putting together an online class, a studio tour, the process of making my giant tree mural, etc. Maker Members & Super Learner Members have access to the studio vlogs.
Also, the Member Livestream is TONIGHT (8pm EST). See you there!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Julie
My name is Karen. I have enjoyed watching your videos throughout the years and your story, you have a lovely little boy. I’ve been thinking about buying the brother scan n cut machine but I want to learn more about it before I buy. I currently have the Cricut maker machine and I use it for simple cutting but I feel very intimidated by it.
I was wondering if you have a course regarding the machine or if you know of someone who does?
Thanks
Karen Nelson

I couldn’t find a dress I liked in a salon, so I had a seamstress make one. It’s a replica of my grandmother’s ensemble from 1929. I even had the oversized ’20s bouquet!
As for spending $$$ on a dress…I think it’s absurd. Think of all the art supplies or trips you could take for $12K!
