Hello, friends! Here's a little bit about life around here right now:
Classes. So many classes.
I'm doing some private classes over Zoom. I have an upcoming gelatin printing class for teachers at a private school and I'm running a team building exercise for administrators at a university. (Email me if you're interested in a private class or training for you and your friends or your office!)
I've also got lots of live online classes coming up — some ScanNCut and some others, including a 5-week Design Boot Camp. There's a free webinar where you can learn if the course is a good fit for you!
Plus I'm working on some work-at-your-own-pace online classes which include:
- An epic stencil design class for ScanNCut (both DX and ScanNCut 2 — I've filmed every single video twice, once on each machine).
- A super cool companion class for this year's #CarveDecember challenge. This class includes TEN amazing guest stars who are stamp carving/lino champs. You're going to love the lessons they share!
- A year long gelatin printing odyssey broken into 12 individual classes for 2021. It's literally every single thing I know about gelatin printing, broken down into easy-to-digest bits.
Whew. Keeping a small business running during a pandemic and with a baby is no joke. But, thanks to you, I'm making it work. I appreciate all of your kind comments and support!
I bought a Happy Planner.
I've been using it for about a month — in conjunction with my Bullet Journal — and I looooooove it! I have been keeping all of my notes in my Bullet Journal and my tasks in my Happy Planner. Since having a baby, I feel like my brain has fallen out of my head. (As a side note, I listened to a TED Talk about the brain and it turns out women's brains actually do change after pregnancy. So, it's not my imagination!) I feel like the Happy Planner is making it easier for me to keep up with everything that needs to get done. I have carried over my Bullet Journal markings and color codes to the Happy Planner, so that it all feels cohesive and easy. I'm feeling organized and productive and I love it!
How is the baby?
He is nine months old and cute as a button. He sits like a champ, eats everything (including paper – sigh), and has no fear of thunderstorms. He has the sweetest, most even tempered personality. I can't wait until he can talk. I want to learn all about what is going on in that cute little head!
I have a renewed interest in my sketchbook lately and I'm crushing on the work of Santi Sallés:
I could spend all day looking through his stuff. I love that he shares all kinds of sketches from polished to hasty. One more thing on my to do list: get out my sketchbook more often!
So, there you have it! That's the scoop on life around here at the moment. If you're a member, August's vlog is in online classroom! If you're thinking of becoming a member, here are a few nice things people said recently on Facebook:
