Art Journal Every Day: Re-Carving a Broken Number Stamp

from the Balzer Designs Blog: Art Journal Every Day #artjournal #artjournaleveryday

If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek.  Even if you're not on social media, you can see everything (from twitter, pinterest, instagram, and facebook) that uses that hashtag here.

If you've ever looked at my art journal pages, you know that I use a set of hand carved number stamps in my art journal almost every day.  I've been using this particular set…

Originalnumberstamps
…for years!

2019:

1-WhitePageCollage-wm
2018:

3-Eyes-wm
2017:

2-PinkHair-wm
2016:

2-MatisseGreenLine-wm
2015:

1-ThisMomentGLITTER-wm
2014:

1-YellowPage-wm
2013:

1-MarkerFace-wm
I think 2013 is the year I carved this set.  Well, recently one of them broke.  And it made me sad — I mean, I've been using these stamps for 7 years, almost every single day.

So I decided to take a few moments and re-carve the stamp.

It was quick and easy and now I, once again, have a complete set of number stamps for my art journal!  Yay!

Hope you get some art journaling done this weekend.  Stay home and stay healthy!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • I always look forward to your posts and especially love the ones about art journaling every day, which I have been doing for several years due to your inspiration. I also do travel journals and altered books. Recently I’ve started a journal for all extended family gatherings and also one for a special time my sisters and I have scattering our parents ashes all the places they loved to golf and camp. Both of my sisters are also in the midst of making an art journal about our travels together scattering and all the memories.
I love making gelli prints too and using alcohol inks.
Thanks you for all the inspiration you’ve given me, Julie.
