Hello, friends! Here's a little bit about life right now:
Short sleeves!
Well, not at the moment. But we spent a week in Hawaii this month where my baby got to meet his cousin — who is just 7 weeks older than he is.
On my last "Around Here" post, I mentioned that we were headed to Hawaii and someone recommend UV Skinz for the baby. I ordered some and they were great!
Super cute and really functional. So good, in fact, that my brother asked to permanently borrow one of them for his baby! Thanks for the tip!
I have to confess to reading total trash on my kindle. I just finished a poorly written but easily devour-able historical romance novel called At Last the Rogue Returns and I'm now in the midst of reading what I would call a beach book. It's a mystery novel called Say You're Sorry.
So when do I find the time to read? My baby is a sloooooow eater. He also often falls asleep mid-eating and then wakes up to eat some more 2 minutes later. So when I have a free hand, I grab my kindle and read a few pages. It's slow, but it makes me feel good to be reading instead of watching TV or scrolling through my phone.
Current art crush?
I have been girl crushing on Lisa Congdon for years. She is such a talented artist and I love reading her captions on her instagram posts. I appreciate that she's smart, introspective, positive, and inclusive. Check out some of her awesome art:
I think I appreciate the sentiments in her artwork as much as the art itself. It makes me happy when I see her artwork pop up in my feed. And don't we all need a little happy in our every day lives?!
