Today's guest post is from the super talented Cat Kerr. Cat is a frequent guest on Make It Artsy and always shares super fun projects with lots of layers!
Are you always losing your favorite pens, pencils and markers? If you're anything like me you want to pull your hair out every time you go reach for your favorite writing tool and guess what…it's not where it's supposed to be! So I decided I wanted to make my own case and I would attach to directly to my journal so I could never lose my favorite writing tools again.
Now there was one little catch to this idea…my original thought was to make it out of fabric but I don't actually know how to sew (one little hiccup) which meant it would have to be made out of something completely different. Something that is durable and that could be “glued” together instead of sewn together.
Thankfully I knew just the product to use. White Craft Plastic! This stuff cuts easily with a pair of scissors but you can't tear or rip it. Plus it's a thin plastic sheet so you can use alcohol inks or Ink Sprays on the surface and they look vibrant and beautiful.
My only hope is that once I create my case and attach it to my journal…. I don't lose the journal!
