If you're like me, you have more ideas than time to get them all done!  Today I thought I'd share a few projects that are on creative to-do list:

A student of mine kindly gifted me a "Sew Together" bag.  It has three zipper pockets within a larger bag.  (This is not a photo of my bag because I'm lazy.  But this is what it looks like, but with different fabric.)

The "Sew Together" bag is an internet phenomenon and now that I own one, I know why.  It holds sooooo much and is super duper useful.  At some point, I plan to buy the pattern and make a million more!

A while ago I stumbled across dendritic painting.

After watching the video, I ran to my studio to try the technique.  My results are not as spectacular as the ones in the video, so I want to keep trying and maybe get some glass — I've been using plastic.

Finally, now that I've started the handmade clothing thing, I've become obsessed with this one dress pattern called the #hinterlanddress. There are more than 1500 photos attached to that hashtag.  People add sleeves, turn it into a shirt, change the proportions.  It seems to be an excellent boiler plate dress!

Anyway, you get the idea!  I could spend hours (and I might have) just poking through the hashtag versions of this dress!  Definitely on my to-do list!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • 2 new-to-me ideas here – the bag and dendritric painting – thanks for the continued inspiration. I agree, too many ideas and not enough time.

  • Hi Julie – I saw something yesterday that made me think of you. A young woman was wearing a really pretty, over-sized plaid shirt – the bottom half looked like it had been bleached while the top half was the original color. Looked really easy and so cool – I will definitely try it for myself. Maybe I’ll start with a thrift store shirt and see how it goes.
    Really enjoy your work. Thanks!

  • Dendritic printing is fabulous, I found it a month or so ago. You do get better results with glass but it’s scary, I’ve already got a small crack in one corner of the glass and separating the sheets is nerve wracking. Squishing blobs of paint between the panes sometimes (!) gives the most gorgeous organic shapes.
