Dina Wakley Pouring Medium – Ranger Challenge 2019

The good folks at Ranger invited me to participate in the 2019 Ranger Designer Challenge, featuring Dina Wakley Pouring Medium.  Before I even opened my box, I watched this video about it from Dina:

I had done some paint pouring before — mostly dirty pours with Matte Medium — so I was super excited to try out Dina' version.  Here is the piece I made for the challenge:

I used a lot of foam adhesive in order to create dimension on the piece:

I really like the way this piece turned out, although I have to confess that it feels very Dina to me.  After all, I used a stamp with her handwriting and tissue paper with a face she drew on it.  And the color palette is her color palette.  But I like to think there's still a little bit of me in there somewhere….

Thanks for stopping by!

  • I’d like to see the Julie version of this, using your own products and color sense. A stamped tag perhaps? Your own cut-outs? Sort of art-journaling 3D?

  • Have you poured on ceramic tiles? Also, I was thinking that for your smaller substrate you c ould bend a stripp of cardboard and tape the ends to the back. Would give you a small handle to work with the substrate from underneath.
