Art Journal Every Day: Beginnings of the Button Journal

from the Balzer Designs Blog: Art Journal Every Day #artjournal #artjournaleveryday

If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek.  Even if you're not on social media, you can see everything (from twitter, pinterest, instagram, and facebook) that uses that hashtag here.

I was poking through my blog archives and I discovered that the last time I posted a round up of pages from my daily art journal was March 16!  That seems like way too long ago, doesn't it?!  Since I last posted daily pages, I have started and completed a new journal and moved into another new journal, so there are lots and lots of colorful pages share!

I've been calling this journal "the Button Journal" for obvious reasons:

When you open the cover of this journal, you see my patched together end papers:

I've started putting the year in the front of every journal.  I now have enough journals that I can't keep the order straight!

At the center of my end papers is a large monoprint:

This particular art journal has even more than usual unusually shaped pages and they start from the very beginning:

I usually hate the first page in a new journal — it's like I don't know how to work out the kinks — but I love this one:

And I couldn't get rid of that flower from my mind, apparently.  You'll find a smaller version on this next page:

My art journals are full of leftover bits and bobs, like all of this stamping:

Or this collaged deli paper:

I love that everything finds a happy home in my junque journal and isn't wasted!

Hope you find some time to art journal this week!

Thanks for stopping by!
