Hello, friends!  Here's a little bit about life right now:

What are you listening to?

Podcasts, podcasts, podcasts!  As you know, I'm at the Crow Barn for two weeks and all day long we work in silence.  So, I've got my headphones on and I'm listening to a HOURS of podcasts every single day.  My recent favorite: 30 for 30 Podcast: This is a sports podcast from ESPN and they just did a 5-part documentary series on Bikram yoga.  It was fascinating (even if you don't like sports)!

What are you wearing?

I'm obsessed with anything embroidered or peasant-y at the moment!

What have you bought?

Fabric, fabric, fabric!!!

What are you reading?

I bought a book at the Columbus Museum of Art: Symphonic Poem: The Art of Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson.

Symphonicpoem
Robinson left her art to the Columbus Museum of Art and I fell in love with it when I visited the museum last week, so I had to buy the book.  You can find a brief bio about her (with some photos of her work) here.  The book is GREAT with fold-outs of some of her longer pieces.

Who are you stalking…er, admiring from afar?

Kitty Wilkin, aka "Night Quilter."  She's currently engaged in a 100 day project: #100daysofSewSmaller.

Her teeny tiny blocks are amazing!  Look how small these blocks are:

Where are you going?

In June, I'm headed to Connecticut to take a class on sewing clothing (yay!) and then I've got two trips to Cleveland for filming crafty fun, like the new season of Make It Artsy!

So, there you have it!  That's the scoop on life around here at the moment.  If you'd like more behind-the-scenes real life fun, you can always check out my vlog.  I post a new vlog to my YouTube channel every Wednesday!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • Welcome to Ohio and to Columbus in particular. Isn’t Aminah’s
work wonderful. A friend of mine knew her well and would save
buttons for her. Then periodically my friend would hang a bag of button’s
on her gate. Enjoy your time here. Sorry it is so beastly hot.
This is very unusual for May.

  • Quilting is not an “inexpensive” hobby! $1000 for 100 yards of fabric. Most good quilting fabric costs at least $13 per yard these days. Of course it is a bit cheaper for solids. I hope you are having a good time and really get something wonderful made.
