Looking back at all of these photos I find it mind boggling to think…I didn't even take photos of all of the quilts that were at Quilt Festival! AND I'm not even sharing all of the photos that I took!
Mind. Blown.
First up, check out this beautiful work by Sue Spargo. She's very well known in the quilt world, but was new-to-me. Her wool applique quilts are wonderful and made me want to sew. I think you'll love all the details!
If you're as obsessed with Sue's work as I am, she does sell kits on her website. She also has several books.
Next up, architecture (and more):
Quilt Festival is such a vast show in many ways. One of the things that I particularly like about Quilt Festival is that it has multiple curators. The overall Festival Show is divided into multiple small exhibits, each curated by a different group/person.
Why is that important?
We are all biased. We all like certain things. Curators are no different. When a show has only one curator, there is often only one voice in evidence. With multiple curators across multiple shows, the voices in the room are many! And that's exciting to me.
So, don't be fooled by my photos. I am a kind of curator too. I did my best to include all kinds of quilts, but I'm human and I take photos of what I like and respond to.
Therefore, if you ever get a chance to go to Quilt Festival, I highly recommend it!
There's just one more post of fabulous quilt photos to wrap up this epic quilt journey!
Thanks for stopping by!

I’m overwhelmed by all the fantastic quilts at the Houston show. I’ve been to small and larger quilt shows, never big as Houston, and I’m always awed, exhausted and exhilarated at the same time. thanks for sharing, can’t wait for next pics.
