I was lucky enough to be in the New York City area for the opening of the Robert Rauschenberg: Among Friends exhibit at MoMA (Museum of Modern Art). It was epic (the entire 4th floor of the museum) and inspiring (so much good art and excellent signage) and I know that I will be back to visit the exhibit at least one or two more times! If you are anywhere near NYC, you absolutely must go and see it. Until then, here are some photos:

That was so interesting! Thanks so much for sharing. I have not seen a collective of Rauschenberg’s work. I just loved seeing the various mixed media in his art. I have often done rubbings of the street water circles receiving strange looks. I just loved all of the texture!! WOW…that was awesome! Thank you!!!!

I found this exhibit interesting and bazaar. I liked some of it but not all of it. It is good to show other sides of artistic creations. Very nice to see this exhibit.

I was fortunate to go see the exhibit this morning during early entrance for members.It was great to see it without crowds. I was truly amazed at the amount and variety of his work. There was so much I never knew he created. It was a treat to look at all of your photos and remember what I saw this morning. Thanks for taking so many detailed photos and sharing them.

Thanks sooooo much Julie for this experience. I remember seeing a lot of this work by these artists in the ’89/’90s in my first ever trip to MOMA. It took my breath away. Nothing like seeing the actual work in person. The experimentation and mark making have taught me and inspired me ever since.
