If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week, use the hashtag #artjournaleveryday so that we can all take a peek.  Even if you're not on social media, you can see everything (from twitter, pinterest, instagram, and facebook) that uses that hashtag here.

How can it be that I'm six months behind in sharing my daily art journal pages?!  Too much else going on, I guess!  Today I'm sharing some pages from the end of July 2016.  I've been really into adding flaps and cutting holes in my art journal lately, so you can expect to see lots and lots of that in the coming weeks!

Do you see the flap that's part of this page?

Wondering what to do with tags in your art journal?!  Turn them into flaps!

Lots of Art Foamies being used here!  I love stamping with paint onto black.  It looks so good!

Here's another mini tag.  I'm using it as just a bit of decoration.  And notice how I painted the white hearts over a wildly scattered background.  They help to unite it!

I've been having fun creating some pages without any journaling.  The journaling you see on the right is actually on the next page.  This is a short page.  The tag extends off as a kind of tab.

Another way to use those tags from Carve December, right?!

I love the texture I was able to achieve in the face by using markers and pens.

On this side of the tag flap, there is a second tag, but I've hidden it a bit under the large stenciled image.

You can just see the edge of the tag in this detail photo.

I love the way that this lacy Easter scene looks on this page!

  • Love it! How did you securely attach the tag to your art journal page? Also, I clicked on ATG and not found. What is ATG? Thanks so much for sharing your lovely journal pages!!

  • Love the Easter scene Julie. I really like the flaps but must admit that I forget to use them. With all of those gorgeous tags you have lying around it must be easier for you to remember them.

  • I love the flaps. Lately I have been using lots of pockets on pages, but the flaps are a great idea. Thanks for sharing the fun.
