ScanNCut Tutorial Videos: Fill Pattern, Grouping in the Machine, Process Overlap

Hurray and hurrah!  You've been asking for it and now you've got it.  With the latest firmware update (free for all ScanNCut owners), you can now fill in what you've drawn.  And not only can you fill it in, you can fill it with a pattern.

There are five patterns to choose from and you can make adjustments to the angle and width of separation.  These are all at their default.  Watch the video for the how to:

Are you already imagining the possibilities?!  Whether it's a built-in design, custom design, or text, you can use your ScanNCut's draw function to make it just what you want it to be!  It's super exciting for sure!

So many awesome new features were released with the most recent FREE firmware update and another one of these features is the ability to group and ungroup in the machine.  In this tutorial video I show you how to use the grouping and ungrouping functions — as well as the new tap-to-select function.  It's pretty awesome and makes a big difference in ease of work flow!  This machine just keeps getting better and better!

I took the snowflakes I cut in the video and turned them into a banner, using the stitching process from this ScanNCut Snowflake Banner video.  Super easy:

This next video deals with one of the best editing tools within ScanNCut Canvas: Process Overlap.

Process Overlap is a powerful series of four functions that allow you to manipulate your files in all sorts of ways.  Watch the video for the how-to:

Thanks for stopping by!

  • Hi there Julie,
I have not been around for a bit. Happy Thanks Giving to you.
I just got to see these videos on fill pattern and regrouping.
I do use the regrouping function on my scan n cut a lot. I now totally understand the remove and overlap and divide and subtract functions. I was trying that out the week before Thanks Giving and could not figure out what it was doing. How cool.
Thank you so much for showing this it makes things a lot more understandable, even if one has had their scanncut a while.
I really like the fill function. I really think it is great.
I just saw today the new update 2.4.0 for the scanncut canvas. I read enhanced image tracing?? I read that it was used with the design collections. I have all four of the design collections if that is what they mean.
I sent off an email to Brother to confirm what collections they are talking about. There is an activation button now on the account page but I am not sure as what to do with that at this time. I will wait till I hear back from Brother.
I will pick up my embossing kit from my local Brother dealer this week. I am now looking forward to seeing the new foil kit. I think that is interesting too. I will purchase that when it comes available.
Have a great evening, and Happy Tuesday night.

  • Wow! I love the new foam stamps! How can you ask us to choose one favorite? I would have to say the writer’s block. The writing is so beautiful and organic that it would be a wonderful addition to any piece!
