I was lucky enough to head back to Houston for Quilt Festival this year. Yay! If you're unfamiliar with Quilt Festival it's a ginormous consumer show (meaning it's open to the public). There's a very large "show floor" which is packed with vendors.
Lots of fabric, sewing machines, thread, rulers, patterns, all all the usual quilting supplies, but you'll also find shoes, jewelry, clothing, and plenty more for sale! There is also a very large series of exhibition halls filled with gorgeous quilts. And when I say filled, that's an understatement. Over the next week or two you will see hundreds of photos of quilts. I didn't manage to see all of the quilts during my trip. And I didn't photograph all of the quilts I saw. So maybe that will give you a sense of the scale of the thing!
Some year I'd love to go to Quilt Festival just as a regular person and get to take the classes, listen to lectures, go shopping, and just wander. Nevertheless, I managed to have a very good time in the All Brands booth, demoing the ScanNCut.
Lots of very nice people stopped by to see a demo or ask questions or just chat.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself even if I did lose my voice along the way.
I'll be sharing more in-depth thoughts on the Quilt Festival experience on this week's Adventures in Arting podcast (Thursday) and the Julie's World Vlog (Wednesday).
