As promised, here are the rest of the photos from class in Austin. On Sunday we brought our mixed media collages to a finish and what a grand finish it was!
And while it's the journey that really counts, check out these gorgeous creations from these talented women. I think they are full of life and freedom and express each artist's personality. So cool!
I want to give a special thank you to Margaret (left) who hosted me along with her daughters Jackie and Kate and granddaughter Charlotte.
As you can see from the photo, they're a great bunch of ladies — talented and funny and treated me so well! I really appreciate it!
I also want to give a special thank you to Laurie (top) and Carolyn (bottom) who purchased these demo mixed media collages from me in class. I am honored to have my work in the homes of fellow artists!
I hope to see you in class too!
Next up:
See you there! Thanks for stopping by!
Everyone seems so engaged in creating. You set the tone for folks to feel comfortable using themselves to try new techniques.

SIgh! How I wish I could take a class from you! You may have to visit Panama, in Latin America. Nevertheless, I loved what I saw from your students and was so happy that I have some of the ArtFoamies Stamps that were used. I too love using them…so much fun! But a lesson from Julie FFB, would have allowed me the exploration of doing a face, or bring out my authentic style. Thanks for sharing. Maybe one day!!

Julie, I, too would love to take a class from you. But I do not see that happening, based on my schedule and geography. SO, I have to ask if you have thought about providing a self-paced e-class online (or, even a live webinar-type class…gasp! How wonderful that would be!)I looked closely at some of the pieces the ladies were working on in the pictures above, and kept asking myself, “How did they do that?” or “Did Julie guide them on how to start?” “Did the artists do preliminary sketches or just go with the flow?” “Where did they get that paper?” “Did they make collage papers first?” “Did they make their own stamps and stencils?” Anyway, just wondering if you’ve thought about reaching out to your “Fei Fan Base” by offering online classes? Thanks! Keep up the great work and inspiration.

Wow, looks like a great weekend of learning, creating and fun! I am promising myself that I will catch up with you at a workshop event and stay for the entire experience, as possible!

Looks like a grand time was had by all! I was impressed to see that one student managed to keep her immaculate white skirt clean! I couldn’t have done it–apron or no!
