**NEW** Weekly Vlogs on YouTube: Julie’s World

I wanted to share an exciting new venture with you!  I'm going to be creating some weekly vlogs and sharing them over on my YouTube channel.

from the Balzer Designs Blog: Julie's World Weekly Vlogging Series
What's a Vlog?

It's a video blog or log.

Okay, I still don't get what that is?

Well, in my case, it's a place to share little snippets from my life.  In my weekly vlogs you will find:

  • Projects-in-Process
  • Craft Fails
  • Objects/People/Places that inspire me
  • Snippets of my daily life
  • Thoughts on the day/my plan for the day/things I'm excited about
  • Shortened Versions of my Periscope Videos (ex. a half-an-hour video in 30 seconds)
  • Crafty Shopping Trips!
  • A peek inside my home
  • Moments with my family
  • Behind-the-Scenes videos
  • Artistic process discussions — i.e. Is it done? Which way should I go?

Why would I want to watch that?

Oh, so many reasons!

  • You're curious about my creative process.
  • You want to get to know me better.
  • Silly things make you laugh.
  • You enjoy seeing projects-in-process.
  • You live the arting life.
  • You like to be a fly on the wall.
  • You're interested in my daily schedule.
  • You like to be entertained.
  • You just can't get enough "Julie."  ;)

The "Julie's World" vlogs will be under ten-minutes and uploaded to my YouTube channel every Wednesday.  I am going to share the first one here today, but in general, I probably won't be posting them here on the blog.  Of course, you are more than welcome to visit and/or subscribe to my YouTube channel to catch them!

I hope you enjoyed that!  Thanks for stopping by!

  • Julie, I love your enthusiasm for your work and patience when a project is a disappointment. I have been “knowing you” for some years and really envy your skills.
Would love to see you in Austin this month, but can only hope that you do Austin again and I will be free to come. I live near Houston, so the trip would be a fun adventure for an old lady like I.

  • Julie, Love this Vlog! It’s so nice to hear about your thought process while shopping for artsy things and just where you get your inspiration. I have always enjoyed your style of art and your ability to express it through all forms of mixed media. Will look forward to watching it weekly.

  • I happened to find & watch your first vlog yesterday morning, and was so surprised that you hadn’t mentioned it on your blog 😛
Anyway, I really enjoyed it and look forward to the series! I’m so envious that you don’t participate in the daily 9-5 office grind. Don’t get me wrong, I know you work hard – but you make it seem like nothing but fun!

  • Oh wow that was very cute. Oh my maybe I might do the same to my scanncut. Actually it looked really cool. Speaking of snc:.)
I bought the embossing kit today over at Amazon. Looks like they had sold fast. I did not see them there last week. I think only 2 left when I bought mine. I also bought my Sumi brush set.
Love the cookies and your trip to Michaels. You look like you are always having a good time. I love your enthusiasm.
Project fails I know lots of them. I made my shawl and cut out my butterflies. Then I thought I had the big middle butterfly centered. Ha ha not happening.
I ended up wearing it over my dress like a toga one shoulder bare. the big centered or off center butterfly worked out very nicely on my right shoulder and down my arm. Looked great.
Two little butterflies on the two points of my shawl\toga floated majestically around my knees and back leg area.
The other butterflies floated around my stomach and backside area. I could not have done this to wear this way if I tried.
I am now trying to embroider bath towels 3p set for four people. Set it all up yesterday and went to sew out the face cloths today and for some reason I cannot get my width to stay set for the life of me.
Hopefully not another failure:.( I always have things go amiss when it is coming on to the full moon or wait is it here yet??
I usually start all my projects in the new moon as a rule. New beginning and good time to start new things.
I love your vlog cannot wait to see more.
Have a happy Friday my sweet Julie:.)

  • Hey Julie! Long time no comment! That’s my problem, I’m always out here watching, following and generally keeping an eye on what’s going on in your artsy world! Love this new addition of your vlog. It seems that you have settled quite nicely into your life in Boston. Oh and speaking of love, your scan n cut looks fabulous! I emailed PBS and the guy said Make it Artsy will be on in Dwcember. I will keep an eye out. Those earrings that Jen made look amazing! Very random comment but it’s all good!
