It's Valentine's Week (i.e. the week before Valentine's Day)! Valentine's Day is an excellent excuse to make crafty things. So, all this week I'll be sharing some love inspired projects!
The very first stamp that I encourage anybody and everybody to try their hand at carving is a heart stamp. You learn how to carve curves and straight lines, as well as inside and outside points, all in a very simple shape.
But that humble heart stamp is more than just practice! A heart stamp can create so many lovely patterns! Simply rotate, space out, and experiment with overlapping. Take a peek at a few of the possible variations:
You can quickly and easily create a dozen unique patterned papers with a simple little heart and red ink pad. It's amazing! Imagine if you added color variations?!
Here are two quick cards I put together using heart patterns:
This is a simple stamped pattern which I added a small embellishment cluster to:
(If you changed the sentiment and used a green ink pad, this one could be used for St. Patrick's Day!)
This next card began as a scrap of leftover painted deli paper. I stamped the simplest of heart patterns onto the scrap and then cut out the word love and affixed the deli paper to my black card. Super easy!
