Crafting With My HP Envy: Part Two #IntelTablets

from the Balzer Designs Blog: Crafting With my HP Envy: Part Two #IntelTablets

This is the second and final installment of my adventures with my new HP Envy.  You can read the first post here.

Can you believe that this thing is a laptop?!  One of the coolest things about the HP Envy is that it easily transforms from a laptop into a tablet, as you can see in this 7 second video:

At first you think you might be breaking it when you start to bend the screen backwards…

But then you realize it's a totally smooth hinge and it's fine to bend it backwards!

Once you've folded it over, you're ready to get to work with an absolutely enormous tablet screen.  Seriously, it's **huge** compared to my iPad.

I've been taking advantage of that big screen to use my HP Envy for digital drawing and painting.

The control and pressure sensitivity are excellent and the colors are vibrant and true — all important things on the art checklist.

Here's what I made:

I think it's super cool to have a computer that can be used in so many ways!  Do you own a convertible computer?  How do you use it?  I'd love to know!

Thanks for stopping by!

  • I have a Toshiba 3 in 1. I was very hesitant to bend it back as well, but it worked, then asked me if I wanted to work in tablet mode. I use it for everything. Love the touch screen.

  • Super cool. All I have right now is this iPhone 6. My computer died on me a couple years ago and we’ve haven’t been able to get one since. I’m seriously gonna have to get a closer look at that HP you have when I do finally get to replace my hunk of junk laying under the bed. Thanks for sharing all the fun adventures you go on.

  • I have an HP Envy, but it’s part of the printer series, lol! Would love to get the hinged convertible laptop/tablet. I have always found HP products very reliable. Merry, merry! And thanks for the demo.
