Right before I left NYC, I took a woodworking class with Craftsman Tools. They rented out a warehouse space in Brooklyn for their annual Makecation.
They made the class super simple for us. We received pre-cut pieces…
…which we used…
…to create a toolbox with a drawer!
It's very simple, but I love mine! I enjoy power tools and was glad to add some new skills to my…toolbox! ;)
I'd love to do more woodworking, but you need to have space for all those cool tools. I definitely have more space here in Massachusetts, but not quite enough for a wood shop! The one thing I did buy after the workshop was these clamps.
They're perfect for bookbinding and other crafty pursuits. And they're not the screw clamps I've seen before, y0u simply squeeze to tighten. Two thumbs up for easy tools!
Now, I think it's time for me to paint that toolbox. It's awfully blank…!

Power tools! What a fun workshop, thanks for sharing the experience with your photos. We have all that stuff in our garage, my husband’s hobby. Those squeeze-type clamps are great, I’ve used big ones for quilt frames, little ones for bookbinding, etc. Looking forward to seeing the painted toolbox.

What a great class. Love the tool box . I do have a cordless drill that can also be used as a power screw driver. It’s a great start for a tool collection.

I also love power tools and purchased a couple of items but told myself I had to stop. I hardly have time to craft, draw and sew – much less starting something else. If only I didn’t have to work…. or if my hubby had an interest in power tools and I could just borrow his. But alas it’s not his cup of tea.
