Art Journal Every Day: Wrapping Up 2014 and Entering 2015

Helloooooooooo!  I'm sharing some more pages from my every day art journal with you today.  I had a very busy January, which is reflected in my pages.  I hope you enjoy these pages and find some inspiration for your own art journal!

I love my Junque Journal and its uneven pages!  The funky edges look so cool!  And a quick advertisement: I'm teaching a one-day version of "Make Your Own Junque Journal" at The Ink Pad here in NYC on March 29.  It is different from the online version of the class.  The biggest difference is that it's a totally different binding technique (different stitch and a different way of attaching the covers).  Even if you've taken my online class, this in-person class offers something new and different.  It's really important for me to always make my online and in-person classes different from each other!

This is a scrap of a print from a hand carved stamp.  Fills the space nicely, don't you think?

I used a gold paint pen to fill in my letters.  In person, it's very shiny and cool!

This page represents the entirety of the daily art journaling I did in January.  Let me say that again: this page represents the entirety of the daily art journaling I did in January.  Life is like that, you know?  I was barely home and I didn't travel with my journal.  I don't beat myself up about it.  Daily journaling is a goal, but I don't always make it.  And that's a-okay.

More gold paint pen action!

When I bind together my Junque Journals, one of the types of paper I bind in is book pages.  This is a photo from a book I have on the movies, full of great screenshots from movies, and I love incorporating them into my journal!

This is an oldie stencil, but a good one: my Layered Star stencil makes it easy to create — you guessed it — a layered star!

The circles are one of my new stamps, from the Hand Carved Elements set.  The numbers are from my Numbers stamp set!

These are the leftover strips from the Explosion Card I made!  Nothing goes to waste when you have an art journal!

You may recall that this journal page is where I tested out my airplane stamp in December.  I often stamp or paint or collage stuff into a later part of my journal and then find it later when I flip the page!  

This glitter stenciled tag is a piece of Junque that I bound into my journal.  I decided not to cover it up because it's just too pretty and shiny!  I shared my glitter stenciling technique many years ago, in this video:

I've been experimenting with using non-black ink for the date in my art journal. I like the look!

Another oldie stencil, but a goodie.  The Lotus Blossom stencil works in much the same way as the Layered Star stencil.  You layer together the different parts of the stencil — with different colors — to create a cool complex image!
