Lately, for every occassion that has required a card, I've been making pop ups!

First, there was Valentine's Day…

Then, I attended a friend's Jane Austen themed birthday party….

And finally, this past weekend I went to a dual birthday party for some friends.  He loves Star Wars and she's a doctor who loves Hello Kitty….

I used my ScanNCut to make these cards, but you could absolutely hand cut them.  (And, in case you're wondering, I used a piece of acetate to float the eyes and nose in Hello Kitty's face.)

Thanks for stopping by!

  • Sooooo Cute and cleaver. I ordered the Scan N Cut during your session on HSN. I can’t wait until it arrives. I had a similar idea as you had above with the cards to make cutouts out of non-frey fabric to stitch over a patch of colored fabric, then you could sew over the cutout lines to make them more sturdy. I plan to use the patches on jeans, or hats, or handbags. I am keeping a journal of all the ideas and things I want to do with the Scan N Cut. I will add your card ideas to my collection.
As always, thanks so much for sharing your beautiful ideas with all of us. Perhaps you should have a new Scan N Cut class.

  • Hi Julie
In my very humble opinion, you are absolutely brilliant. I am curious about one thing in particular, why do you say you cannot draw when it is obvious you indeed can? Wish we could be friends but I know millions must feel the same way.
