I loved all the comments and suggestions you left on my last abstract attempt.  I felt very encouraged to try another one — something with a bit more "Julie" in it.

This one definitely feels more my style, but I'm still struggling.  And that's okay.  I truly believe that to grow as an artist I need to try uncomfortable things and fail.  If I keep trying, one day I'll succeed.

Thanks for stopping by!

  • Julie- I love this one and I really like your other one as well. The good thing about art is that you can do whatever you want with it and you do not have to meet a specific criteria for it to be abstract. make up your own definition of what abstract means to you. I love this second one because it speaks more to your style but I found the other one very soothing and loved the colors. I am using the book Paint lab as a guide to add new fun techniques into my work-you may like it.

  • Put me in the group that says”you go girl!” Before I try something new I always start by giving myself permission to suck at it! So I am the one who finishes last in a class, and then goes home and shines.
YOU really do shine. Ty for sharing with us.

  • Yep! That’s Julie’s art! Love all the colors within the leaves. I need to learn from you about “just starting” I don’t want to say I’m a perfectionist, but I get the jitters before I start anything new. Will try harder just to do it!
