  • Question….the Scan and Cut site says it cuts leather…..what about thin craft foam? Have you tried that yet? (I was supposed to ask you that when I saw you in Charlotte but I was so excited about all that was going on that I totally forgot…oops!)

  • I get a definite impression that Brother may not really care to sell this machine. I have now had a *series* of experiences in which Brother staff have proved themselves uninformed, confused and plain disinterested in demonstrating the Scan n Cut to (interested, no less) customers. Much as I like your demos I think I’ll pass on this machine given how little I can expect of customer service.

  • Great video Julie! I am going to buy the Brother machine but I am confused about all of the Accessories offered with it at additional cost. Do I need these things? Which ones would you suggest I get? I appreciate any advice you can give me.
    Thanks,
    Vicki Sheppard

If a person has a Cricket machine, what does the Scan machine offer that Cricket doesn’t?

  • I have the machine and I also have Cricut machines. The Brother machine is so much better at cutting and you are not limited to what’s on the cartridge like a Cricut. I am a little confused by the mats and it seems in some of your other videos there is a scanning mat??? I received two cutting mats but there is also two sheets of some kind of clear plastic and I wasn’t sure what those are for. For people looking at buying one, the instruction book that comes with it is really helpful and has a lot of pages. The only thing the Brother machine doesn’t do is connect directly to a computer like the Eclips or Sillouette. I think that might be in the future but as you see in some of the other videos by Julie, you can transfer stuff from the computer using a USB storage device. I love this machine even though I have not played with it much ( yet). Thanks for doing more projects on video!!!
