Art Journal Every Day: The Rest of the July Dailies

ArtJournalEveryDayLogo-150If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here.  All of the previous posts can be found archived here.  There is a flickr group for sharing right here.  Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day!  No need to finish anything or even like it.  If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post.  Thanks!

Today I'm sharing the remainder of my July 2013 daily pages.  I think you've probably seen bits and pieces of these pages, especially if you follow me on instagram.  I tend to post a lot of art journal pages in progress there.  I hope you like what you see!

1-PatternSpread-wm
This is a rare page for me these days: there's no face!

1-Detail-wm
The "love you" was cut with the Brother ScanNCut.  The black herringbone pattern is a hand carved stamp, as are the date and day of the week.

1-PurpleDetail-wm
The purple triangles are a foam stamp that I made, printed with acrylic paint.  I love the look!

2-Face-wm
I really like this face even though the shadowing is really harsh.

2-FaceDetail-wm
I'm trying to master the three-quarter position.  Slowly making progress.

3-ForceToBReckoned-wm
You probably recognize the doodling on the right.  I posted about it here.  Well, I couldn't let it go to waste, so I glued it into my art journal!  Easy solution.

3-wm
It's ballpoint pen on a piece of computer paper.

3-Print-wm
This is a gelli print on an old book page.

4-OutofControl-wm
I have been journaling a lot, but this spread has just one entry.

4-Stamping-wm
Maybe my favorite hand carved alphabet stamps ever!

4-Tag&Pattern-wm
4-Tag2-wm
These two tags were examples I shared in my post about the thermofax back in April.  Again, I couldn't let them go to waste, so into my art journal they went!

5-Attention-wm
These are the Scratch Foam Prints that I shared several weeks ago.  I took a quote that I cut using the ScanNCut and used it as a dividing page between the two prints.

5-Detail-wm
5-Detail-wm

I tend to leave the binding on my journals a bit loose because I often add pages in, like this one.

6-Transfer-wm
Lots and lots of journaling on this spread.  I guess I've got a lot on my mind these days.  I definitely go through cycles where I journal more or less.

6-Detail-wm
These are some of the examples I shared in my "Getting Started with Transfers" class.  I love that no bit of art in my world goes to waste!  All samples, examples, bits, experiments, doodles, etc. — they all find a home in the journal!

Here is this week's linky list:

  • I especially like how you manage to use (almost)every piece of art that you’ve created along the way. Mine end up in a box and I tend to forget that they are there. Thanks for the Friday inspiration Julie.

  • thank you so much for sharing your art journaling and hosting.
i’ve been encouraged so much and am (finally) keeping up with an almost daily art journaling practice and am so grateful as this is something i’ve been wanting to approach for a long time.
