If you're new to Art Journal Every Day, there is a short introduction here. All of the previous posts can be found archived here. There is a flickr group for sharing right here. Remember, it's just ten minutes of nourishing your creative self every day! No need to finish anything or even like it. If you've done some art journaling this week and you've blogged about it, or put it on flickr, please leave a link in the linky list at the end of this post. Thanks!
I can't seem to stop myself from making Junque Journals! I really don't need a new journal. I'm in the middle of my current journal and I have 3 or 4 other ones sitting around, wanting to be used! But artistic inspiration isn't really tied into "need," you know?
So here she is:
It's a Gelli Print done on Deli Paper! Love how it turned out!
And here's a peek at just a few of the pages inside the journal:
Some of the pages are very covered and some of them are mostly blank. I love working in my Junque Journals because I have the option of leaving what I find and incorporating it into something new, or I can completely cover it up and do something new!
I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever go back to a totally blank journal….
Here is this week's linky list:
Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. The winner of the spot in my "Building a Better Blog" webinar is…
Congratulations Deanna! Send me an e-mail and I'll get the webinar login info to you!
And to answer a few questions that have come up about the webinar:
- Yes, you can watch on your iPad.
- After the webinar you will be sent a link so that you can DOWNLOAD the presentation. This means that you will have access to it forever! It also means that you don't have to be present at the webinar to view all the information! :)

I really like that chevron page. The colors are both darks and brights but they are all vibrant. I like how the white frames it.

So, what’s a Junque Journal? Did you make the entire thing yourself, or just put random things on the pages of a pre-made journal?

I love your junque journal and the different pages that show your style. I sometimes make books bound with rings that mix paper, quotes, ephemera and clip art. I would enjoy an online class from you on how you make your junque journals 🙂

Julie – what size are these journals? I keep making ‘junque’ journals trying to get a ‘best’ size and thought you might have input/thoughts/ideas about it. I love the ones with the calendar pages underneath.

I’m loving your junque journal. I’m actually doing a similar thing. You know those “art pages” in the middle of one of the Stampington publications? They’re tear-out-able. Well, collector of those mags that I am, I had a TON of those pages, so I cut them all down to a certain size and stuck them back-to-back to each other and then bound them all together with binder rings and, voila! Art journal! I made a chipboard front and back and covered with funky fabric. Inside, though, I LOVE having all the different backgrounds that I can either cover over completely or partially, incorporating them into my own design. It’s super fun and eliminates completely that “now what?” question as you open to a blank page.
Hey! I’m excited I’ll be meeting you in person in a couple weeks as I’m taking your stamp carving class at the Beth Center on May 4th! Looking forward to it!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful work, as always… 🙂

Thanks for answering the questions you had on the webinar . . . I have signed up but did not get much info from interweave on HOW it worked. Since I have never done one before, your words are reassuring! Thank you.
Plus — Beautiful wild journal pages!!

I have always enjoyed journaling and doodling and it is so fun to make/buy new journals to use. I have to remind myself to fill the old ones up. Something about a fresh start I guess.

Three questions: what is a junque journal? Did you use a calendar as your base? (Cool.) And did you use your cut down gelli plate for the smaller images on the second set of pages? 🙂
